Flatiron District residents and others visiting the neighborhood eagerly await the unfolding of the exciting “Fata Morgana” exhibit as it slowly comes to life along the paths of Madison Square Park. Over the last two weeks, construction workers have been assembling the trellis-works and carefully unloading and attaching the reflective pieces that, when complete, will cover the winding paths of Madison Square Park and reflect the sunlight, sky, and leaves in a way that guarantees to turn a sunny walk through the park into an ethereal experience – at least if the master plans and renderings seen to date are any indication. Fans of monumental public art have been watching with growing anticipation as the work begins to take shape.  Take a look at this quickie video clip to get a sense of the unfolding drama! More to come …
