The ever-interesting Flatiron Prow exhibition space has turned over again, as of this past month, and the subject is the intriguing “Flakes” by Chelsea Browne Hyrnick. The exhibit features a series of hanging, multicolored and textured cut-out shapes of origami paper, that gradually coalesce into a series of undulating geometric patterns.  It’s just about the most exotic, luminous and prolific mobile one can imagine – especially at night with the interplay of the passing cars and the street lights.  Well worth a look as you walk by the Flatiron Building at 23rd Street and 5th Avenue.  Kudos, as always, to Cheryl Mcginnis Gallery for keeping us on our toes, and challenging our concept of public art!
