Puncturing Rush Limbaugh: Is the #StopRush Campaign on Twitter a Success?

May 22, 2013 |

There are a few things all self-respecting liberals ought to hate: racism, sexism, poverty, inequality, and Rush Limbaugh. The latter manages the impressive feat of embodying all the worst, reactionary instincts of the American people. And for that, he is … Read More

With Second Inaugural, President Obama Lays Out Broad Vision for Progressive Change in Second Term

January 22, 2013 |

Obama’s second inaugural address was, in turns, more modest and bolder than his first. On the one hand, gone were the calls for bipartisanship and, by implication, the idea that an opposition party dedicated solely to thwarting his aims can be counted on as a viable negotiating partner. Flatiron Hot! Pundit: The Campaign comes to the Flatiron! Jay-Z’ s 40/40 Club Hosting Obama Fundraiser …

September 18, 2012 |

Owing to the controversial Supreme Court decision Citizens United, which allows for wealthy individuals to make unlimited donations to shadowy entities known as “Super-Pacs,” Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has enjoyed a consistent fundraising advantage over President Barack Obama, whose anti-Wall Street rhetoric and center-left policy prescriptions have scared away many a hyper-ventilating plutocrat. That being said, the President has one thing on his side that his opponent does not: star power (unless you count Clint Eastwood’s infamous conversation with an empty chair at the Republican National Convention).
