Wafels and Dinges is ringing in the holidays with a selection of seasonal treats that blend together a variety of cultures. The holiday season is a great time for Flatiron and NoMad denizens to check out their Herald Square site, among others, to sample and enjoy the new offerings.
The main attraction is the brand new Dubai Chocolate Wafel, which was created in collaboration with world-famous French chocolatier Jacques Torres. It consists of W&D’s signature fresh-baked Belgian waffle topped with melted chocolate, a made-from-scratch pistachio spread sweetened with white chocolate, kataifi, and whipped cream.
Dubai chocolate has seen a notable spike in popularity in recent years, and W&D founder Thomas DeGeest saw an opportunity to put its own spin on this trend. “We’re typically not a company that jumps on every trend that comes by,” DeGeest said, “so if we were going to do this, we had to make it amazing — and the way we decided to make it amazing was to work with Jacques Torres.”
“We set out to create something truly magical this year, and the Dubai Chocolate Wafel is the result,” said Thomas DeGeest, Special Envoy for Wafels, Belgian Ministry of Culinary Affairs. “Partnering with Jacques Torres has allowed us to deliver an unparalleled taste of sweet, velvety luxury that perfectly captures the festive spirit of New York City during the holidays.”
Additionally, W&D is offering two seasonal alcoholic beverages. The returning Spiked Belgian Hot Cocoa comes in three variants that offer the choice between vanilla vodka, creamy Irish-style liqueur, and a nutty almond liqueur blend. Alongside it comes a brand new addition: a German specialty known as glühwein. This mulled wine is served warm and has cinnamon, cloves, and anise to give it a festive flavor.
These seasonal delights are available at all Wafels and Dinges locations across New York City, including Bryant Park and Herald Square. Visit their website for more information.
