Mr. Pink Makes Flatiron-Nomad Debut!
Reported for the Flatiron Hot! News by Tod and Eric Shapiro
If you catch a glimpse of a rotund, pink man gazing out at the Flatiron District from rooftops and street-level corners, rest assured that you are not seeing things. Mr. Pink is not a figment of your overcaffeinated imagination, but a public art installation by French artist Philippe Katerine, presented by the Flatiron NoMad Partnership as part of its Winter Glow programming.
“Flatiron NoMad Glows Pink” features 10 illuminated inflatable and resin sculptures placed across Flatiron and NoMad, on view January 15 through February 28, 2026. (There are 9 check-in locations, because PORCELANOSA has two Mr. Pink sculptures.)
If the absurdist spectacle is not enough to entice you, the partnership has a digital “passport” walking tour (no app needed). Scan the QR code at each stop to check in, unlock rewards, and get entered for chances to win prizes from neighborhood businesses. Consider it a scavenger hunt for constantly overstimulating times. Just note that the passport and rewards run through March 1, 2026, so do not leave it for too late.
Remember: it ain’t over until the pink man sings!
